With so much happening astrologically in our Universe it is wise for Mercury to turn Retrograde Aug 30, 2016…

New Moon Eclipse in Virgo: Sun and the Moon join at 9 degrees of Virgo close to the North Node of the Moon. This is a Powerful Solar Eclipse & New Moon to change and improve our lives. It is shaking the challenge that Neptune, the planet of fantasy and Saturn, the planet of reality, are having for us to brush our dreams with what is possible. 

The blessing is the Eclipse is annular so there is light during their union to see the path we need to follow to find our change…
In my opinion that is the reason that the planet of thoughts, Mercury, slows down revisiting the path already walked to be able to add detail to our dreams and ideas…

This Penumbral Lunar Eclipse also happens close to the healer Chiron for us to learn to heal our own wounds to balance darkness with lightness having compassion for ourselves and others that need our help…

Full Moon in Aquarius – August 18, 2016 @ 7:26 pm in Sydney, Australia - to be part of & one more light in our Universe!

When I was preparing the 2016 Moon Calendar I saw the intensity of this Full Moon and I had a doubt as to whether it was a Lunar Eclipse or not…  But the Nodes of the Moon in Virgo/Pisces were too far from the Sun and Moon polarity of this Full Moon for it to be an Eclipse. However we should be very alert to whatever we feel during the Full Moon as it is a preview for the Penumbral Full Moon Eclipse in February 11, 2017 @ 22 degrees of Aquarius. (My Moon Calendar 2017 has the insights for this eclipse).

We should check up our intentions planted under the last New Moon in Leo (August 3, 2016) and see which of them has good potential to blossom… so you give your attention to them.

The Full Moon in Aquarius relates with networking and people that share an interest with you. Maybe you can find help or ideas from them to help you to achieve your goals of this Moon Cycle.

SATURN and URANUS are the ruler planets of the sign of Aquarius.
  •        Saturn, the planet ruler in traditional astrology, is direct and about to meet Mars for us to work with determination but also challenging the planet of the invisible world forcing us to give definition to our dreams based in our reality.
  •        Uranus, the ruler planet in modern astrology, is in harmony with the Sun offering us rays of uniqueness to stand out for what we are.
MERCURY & JUPITER are very close to each other expanding our mind to see alternatives to work with our goals

VENUS & PLUTO are in earthy harmony giving us intense creativity to transform what is not useful anymore.

Go back in time and check what was important on August 18, 1997 when we had a Full Moon at the same degrees of Aquarius or even better on Aug 8, 1998 that we had a Lunar eclipse with this polarity (Sun in Leo and Moon in Aquarius) that relates with the Eclipse in February next year.

New Moon in Leo + Astrology highlights for August 2016!

New Moon in Leo – August 3, 2016 at 6:44 am Eastern Australia Time. New Beginnings with Sun and Moon together in the spontaneous and optimistic energy ruled by the Sun – the powerful source of energy of our whole Solar system!

The New Moon @ 11 degrees of Leo gets the support of Saturn in Sagittarius and it is challenged by Neptune in Pisces for us to colour-in our dreams with pencils of reality. Connecting with our inner child we write our intentions visualising them with what is possible.

During the New Moon in Leo this August 3rd, 2016 the Universe will have 6 planets out of 10 in fire signs ( Sun, Moon & Venus in Leo; Mars & Saturn in Sagittarius + Uranus in Aries) for us to focus on creating happiness, fun and movement, not to fight and waste energy projects that won’t deliver.

Once Mars changes to Sagittarius and starts heading up to meet Saturn (Aug 24, 2016) their encounter will help us to be more productive with our projects. But also Mars will form a challenge angle with Neptune and we need to watch our actions because we will swing from intense desire to disappointment when things don’t happen the way we planned… The Universe helps with Saturn turning direct on August 13, 2016 for us to work with more determination.


Mercury in Virgo gives us the energy for selecting best ideas and analysing what they have to offer. Between Aug 7-8, 2016 Mercury will face Neptune in Pisces at the same time it challenges Saturn in Sagittarius for us to work with our dreams and ways to apply that in our lives.





On August 6th, 2016 Venus enters into Virgo after giving us the creativity to create our intentions. Just changing to Virgo, Venus challenges Mars in Sagittarius for us to brush each detail required not only with our intentions but also with our relationships… The way we manage our actions will be crucial for our intentions to blossom under the Full Moon in Aquarius on August 18, 2016 at 7:26 pm Easter Time in Australia.




The Sun changes to Virgo on August 23rd, 2016 at 2:40 am.

 Happy Birthday to those born under the Sun in Virgo. Mutable modality (looks for alternatives to deal with change and element Earth (practical energy to materialise ideas).

 The figure of the Zodiac is a woman by her association with fertility and purity. Its ruling planet is Mercury, and although this planet also rules the sign of Gemini, Mercury - called the messenger of the gods by the Romans- in the sign of Virgo, is more about our thinking and analysis than communication.
MAKE A WISH!!! Weekend Aug 27- 28, 2016 we have a nice meeting in our sky!!! Jupiter, the largest planet that expands… joins Venus, the goddess of Love, beauty and finances from Mythology!!! And they are getting closer from today until they meet on Sunday morning local time in Australia. 

Plus they are close to Mercury, the planet associated with processes of thinking… The trilogy is travelling together in VIRGO.

Aug 26-27, 2016 The Moon in Gemini stimulates energies to plan something to satisfy the need for desire to love. 

From Aug 27 at 1:40 to Monday 29 at 6:11 pm the the Moon in Cancer allows us to connect with our spirit and give meaning to our relationships.


Virgo is an earthy and practical energy, so we will feel satisfied with tangible expressions of love… What reasons am I giving to my love-ones to stay with me? That is a good question to ask to ourselves… and then we have an excellent weekend to tell them!!!

On August 30 2016 Mercury will start its retrograde period (close to earth) until September 22,  2016 for us to review and re-evaluate our ideas.

My recommendation for the month of August is to have patience, meditation and to take caution with our ideas.

Remember we plant intentions and then we need to work for them to blossom. Have a Happy New Moon in Leo and a blessed August 2016.
